“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

This quote is a famous Chinese proverb, that truly articulates the beginning of a journey. The first step taken dictates the next, and the next, and the next… until, eventually, the final step of the journey is taken and the end is met with joy. Comparatively, is this not how following Christ works? The first step is taken through faith in Christ, and the final step is taken when we will worship our Father in His Kingdom forever. In between these two points, however, lies a journey filled with great triumph and failure, all reinforced and redeemed by Christ for His glory.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV

This is The Journey: the story of my life encompassed in the infinite grace of Christ. The Journey is my “race” being run with endurance, and I am so excited to have you along with me! My prayer is that you (the reader) would be encouraged, challenged, or even convicted through reading about my life as a disciple of Christ.  Now, let the journey begin…
